Sue Sayers has embraced her creativity throughout her life – expressing her love and fascination for colour and form by means of a variety of media.
Her early years consisted of producing individually designed mohair rugs, that involved washing , dying and spinning the yarn.
Then to her years of jewellery creation, using African trade beads and semi-precious stones, which led to include intricate silver work. Brass, copper and silver mobiles art pieces were the next creative endeavor that are regarded as highly prized collector’s items.
Over the years, painting, always part of her artistic outlet, has become the full focus of her creative expression.
Her style has evolved into an exhilarating engagement of design and colour that compels the viewer to stop and allow their imagination to run free.
“I explore the canvas as I go along” she explains. “Each painting is a mystery, a journey, an interplay of colour, texture form and movement. I lose myself in my work while simultaneously practicing restraint and self-discipline.”
The results speak for themselves.
