• A lifelong career as a commissioned photographer, working alongside graphic design and advertising agencies, Close has always taken time out to photograph the landscapes around him and has built a substantial body of personal work from the places he has lived and visited.

His black and white views of the New Forest reveal the seldom seen - the interplay between light, shapes and shadows coalesce into deep, emotionally rewarding compositions.

Among his numerous solo and joint exhibitions, a highlight was the inclusion of three images within the Ansel Adams exhibition “From the Mountains to the Sea” at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich (2012).
