One of the first things I noticed at the start of the 2020 lockdown was the change in the quality of the sky. The absence of planes and pollution made for a pure ultramarine. The good weather allowed a good amount of painting en plein air. Nick (beloved husband, champion gardener amongst many other talents) has created a garden that needed painting as a matter of urgency and in spite of the background horror of Covid 19 I was able to find great joy.
The British passion for gardening over hundreds of years has resulted in a plethora of extraordinary plants from all over the world. Deep in the garden we have a great variety of structural, sculptural trees which act as a foil to the fluffiness of the flowers below.
This part of the garden is wonderfully neglected, providing food and accommodation to all sorts of wildlife.
